The growth story

One bottleneck, released

The bottleneck

$150 a day into Google and $6,000 a month into radio — with no reporting, no tracking and no way to know what any of it was buying.

What we released

Radio switched off, a 24/7 emergency landing page built for the searches that convert, and call tracking wired into every enquiry.

The result

Roughly half the previous spend, more emergency calls, and every one on the record. The saving alone covers our fee — the growth sits on top.

The challenge

Money out, silence in

Inline Plumbing is one of Christchurch's most established Master Plumbers — 18+ years in the trade, a $20,000 workmanship guarantee, genuine 24/7 emergency response.

But when we took over their digital marketing, the numbers told a hard story: $150 a day going into Google and another $6,000 a month into radio — and the phone wasn't ringing. No results coming back, no reports landing, no way of knowing what any of that spend was actually buying.

Phase one

Cast the net, gather the data

We started where the money is: a dedicated landing page for 24/7 emergency plumbing, built to turn an urgent search into a phone call. Behind it, a Performance Max campaign hitting every angle — Search, Maps, YouTube, Display — to win as many impressions as possible and learn where the real demand lived.

Every page carries the trust signals that win the job — Master Plumbers membership, the $20k guarantee, Site Safe accreditation, transparent pricing — and loads fast enough that nobody bounces before it appears.

Phase two

Let the data pick the targets

After two to three months of learning, we put that data to work: the landing page became the heart of a dedicated Search campaign, broken out into the high-volume plumbing terms people across Canterbury actually type when something's gone wrong.

Conversion triggers sit on every campaign, so each phone call and contact detail is captured cleanly. The last two months have seen a big lift in emergency plumbing calls — and for the first time, Inline can see exactly which searches made the phone ring.

Measurement first

From guesswork to a dashboard

Google rates every live service ad “Good” — and better-rated ads earn better positions for less money. Our AI systems watch the campaigns around the clock and report dynamically — whenever something changes, or whenever we ask. The data is at our fingertips constantly, so budget follows the searches that actually put a job in the van.

The result

Half the spend. More calls.

Here's the part that matters to the bottom line: Inline now spends roughly half of what the old arrangements cost, radio has been switched off entirely, and the phone rings more than it did before. The saving effectively pays for our work — the growth is on top.

And we're not done. A brand-new, SEO-optimised website is in the works, built to earn rankings and organic traffic for Inline's other divisions — Inline Bathrooms and Nuflow trenchless pipe relining — so the next stage of growth doesn't need a dollar of ad spend behind it.

Half the budget, more calls, and every one of them on the record. That's what marketing looks like when the data does the deciding.
